The Technical University of Munich has launched a Center for Translational Cancer Research.
The centre, known as TranslaTUM, officially opened on 14 September. Its aim is to develop diagnostic and therapeutic methods to detect cancer at an earlier stage and improve patients’ chances of recovery.
About 230 researchers from biomedicine, clinical medicine and the engineering and natural sciences will be based at the centre. There will be 16 different teams, but these will collaborate with each other.
