Bernd Sibler, Bavaria’s state secretary for research, has travelled to the UK to discuss post-Brexit cooperation with universities in Cambridge, London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Sibler is in the UK from 5 to 8 September leading a delegation of Bavarian university representatives. As well as visiting several British universities, he is meeting the UK’s former science minister David Willetts; Vivienne Stern, the director of Universities UK International; Hartwig Fischer, director of the British Museum; and the leadership of Museums Galleries Scotland.
“International networking is a central goal of Bavarian universities,” said Sibler in a statement on 5 September. “How our cooperation with universities in the UK will be shaped in the future, in the context of the forthcoming Brexit, will be a focus of the personal conversations and encounters in England and Scotland.”
