Five universities have won €1.6 million from the Deutsche Telekom Foundation to develop digital teaching concepts to boost science, technology, engineering and mathematics in schools.
The Humboldt University of Berlin and the universities of Kaiserslautern, Kiel, Koblenz-Landau and Würzburg were chosen from 31 applicants in a nationwide competition, the foundation said in a statement on 26 March.
Starting this autumn, they will spend three years jointly developing, testing and implementing digital concepts to improve STEM teaching in schools. They will be supported by experts in Austria, Estonia and the Netherlands, as well as elsewhere in Germany.
