The Stifterverband, an association of German research funders, has created a Forum for Open Science and Innovation to boost links between universities and industry.
Germany lacks robust assessments of open science and open innovation and ways to share information about them, the Stifterverband said in a statement on 14 March. The forum is intended to fill that gap.
It will bring academia and industry together to discuss topics such as open access, open data and collaboration with alternative providers. This will help universities and businesses to shape the digital transformation, create future-oriented business and research models and develop innovative and flexible ways of working with more partners, the Stifterverband said.
