The German state of Saxony is seeking a post-Brexit trade deal with the UK city of Coventry and the country’s West Midlands region, according to news reports.
If the deal goes ahead, Saxony’s 32 universities and technical colleges will develop links with Coventry University, the University of Warwick and its Warwick Manufacturing Group.
The two areas’ high-tech and automotive industries would also link up, the news website ITV.com reported on 16 March. Partners would include Silicon Saxony, BMW, Volkswagen, Porsche and, on the English side, Jaguar Land Rover.
