Rectors call for quicker progress on gender equality

HRK bemoans lack of women in senior positions and demands "trend reversal"

The German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) has demanded better career opportunities for women and young scientists at its annual conference. 

When it comes to women, progress at universities is too slow in delivering equal opportunities, the HRK said in a statement. Although the proportion of women in German academia continues to increase, the results are still “unsatisfactory”, it said.
