Lower Saxony and Scotland sign cooperation agreement

Universities in Lower Saxony and Scotland want to intensify their cooperation in the areas of research, study and teaching, according to a memorandum of understanding signed by their respective associations.

“The planned cooperation is a good, encouraging sign for Lower Saxon-Scottish cooperation in science and research in times of Brexit, which still weighs on us, to my greatest regret, and leads to great uncertainty,” said Lower Saxony science minister Björn Thümler on 4 September.

The minister promised financial support to initiate the necessary processes for intensifying cooperation. As part of the deal, the partners will exchange students and researchers and create joint academic courses.
