Strategy bundles spending pots, but critics say efforts fail to reduce consumption

The German government is to up innovation spending and research activity on the bio-economy, as part of a plan agreed last week by the country’s research and agriculture ministries.

The strategy was adopted by the government on 15 January. The plan is expected to bundle all previous federal activities in the fields under the leadership of the two ministries, with an increased focus on innovation.
