Initiative to help FHs hire professors begins

Funds released for programmes aimed at offering diverse career path for potential candidates

Universities of applied sciences (FHs) can now apply for funds to support the recruitment and development of early-career professors through the FH-Personal government programme.

With this programme, the federal government and the German states are making available a total of €431.5 million until 2028. The money can be used to hire and train early-career professors at applied science universities, who need “both outstanding scientific and didactic qualifications”, as well as comprehensive practical experience, according to the programme’s description.
