Report urges funding for pharmaceuticals, digital skills and sustainable energy generation

Germany will direct future public research spending towards digitalisation, pharmaceutical research and sustainable energy, according to a landmark report published this week.

The Federal Report on Research and Innovation 2020 outlined measures to boost German research and innovation policy. It reviewed the past two years and drew conclusions from a detailed analysis on how the country invested the €40 billion of public funds it spends annually on research and innovation.
