Government funds research into ‘energy of the future’

Germany’s federal government has earmarked €9 billion for its newly adopted National Hydrogen Strategy to promote and develop “green” hydrogen technologies.

Hydrogen is crucial for the decarbonisation of important German core industries, such as the steel and chemical industries, and will become increasingly important in the transport sector, a statement by the research ministry said.
