Women take on major posts after resignations and gender concerns cause leadership change

Three Berlin universities have elected new leaders following concerns over gender equality and changes to the state’s higher education act.

The Humboldt University (HU) and Freie Universität Berlin (FU) held their elections last week. At the HU, an election was called after the resignation of president Sabine Kunst.
