Keep science and politics separate, say German professors

High-ranking academics should not be tempted “to mask politically motivated statements as being science-based”

The DHV, a German association of university professors and lecturers, has called for more separation between science and politics.

The two domains follow different logic, the DHV said in a statement. Science cannot usually make a final decision on controversial issues and cannot definitively describe future outcomes, the group said.
