Education bodies slam student aid reforms as inadequate

          

German government’s proposed changes to student financial aid criticised as meagre

The German government’s planned student aid (BAföG) reforms have been met with strong criticism from two of the country’s higher education organisations.

In a joint statement, the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) and the German Student Union (DSW) appealed to the research ministry to do more to make BAföG into “an effective tool for equitable access to education”.
