A permanent coordination centre could improve researchers’ response, German advisory body says
The social science community should take steps to improve how effectively it can react to emergencies and crises, according to the German Council for Social and Economic Data.
The council is an independent advisory board that comments on research findings, data policy legislation, debates and developments. In its latest position paper, it argues that in a crisis, policymakers rely on findings from social and economic research to assess the social consequences of policy options and to guide their decisions.
