Research commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn has begun her European tour to celebrate the start of Horizon 2020, the first calls for which are expected to be out in December.
During a trip to Romania from 3 to 4 October, Geoghegan-Quinn visited the country’s nuclear physics research centre in Magurele and met prime minister Victor Ponta.
Visits to other European countries will take place over the coming months, with her last scheduled trip being to Israel on 3 February 2014.
