The European Commission has released further information on the 15 expert groups advising on priorities for Horizon 2020.
In a statement published on 5 November, the Commission says that nearly 40 per cent of members have not advised on previous EU research programmes, which will ensure a “fresh approach”. There are 20 to 30 members in each group and they are a mix of public researchers, industry representatives and members of society.
Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the research commissioner, said she was “delighted” about the representation of women in the groups—52 per cent of group members are women.
