Spain was the most successful country in the latest round of Horizon 2020 small business funding.
A total of 34 companies from Spain were selected to take part in feasibility studies and optional business coaching, as part of the Horizon 2020 SME instrument. Spanish SMEs have been particularly successful in obtaining funding from the instrument since its launch in 2014.
A total of 161 companies from 23 counties each secured €50,000 in funding under the call. Altogether, 1,569 proposals were submitted to the Commission in March, from which 251 applicants reached the evaluation stage.
