Framework 9 set for big changes

The European Commission has indicated that Framework 9 will change substantially from Horizon 2020, arguing that it needs to respond to external challenges.

“We need a new story for Framework 9,” Kurt Vandenberghe, director of research policy development and coordination at the Commission, said today.

“Should we not look at more disruptive possibilities?” he asked, adding: "What’s the right balance between continuity, which all the stakeholders want, but also the need for change?”
