The European Parliament’s budgets committee is preparing to re-examine proposals for the EU’s 2018 budget in light of the European Council’s views.
Siegfried Mureşan, the general rapporteur for the EU budget, will present the committee with a working document on the Council’s position on 30 August. After the budgets committee has reviewed the proposal, the document will go to the Parliament’s plenary session.
The Parliament will formally respond to the Council’s position in the autumn and will propose its own amendments to the European Commission’s original proposal, the committee said in a press release.
