The European Commission has awarded funds to promote the movement of more than 7,000 researchers and other academic staff between organisations in and outside Europe.
Eighty consortia comprising 811 organisations will receive €80m for staff exchanges, the Commission announced yesterday. The funding is intended to help people increase their networks of contacts, undertake training and develop career opportunities.
The funding has been allocated through the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange call of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions instrument in Horizon 2020. A total of 7,480 exchanges will take place, including between more than 200 organisations outside Europe.
