EU R&D spending in line for another small rise

    

Provisional finding of spending bump coming from businesses

EU R&D spending rose slightly in 2018—to 2.11 per cent of GDP up from 2.07 per cent in 2017—according to preliminary figures released on 27 November by the bloc’s statistics agency, Eurostat.

The uplift was driven by business spending, which rose to 1.41 per cent of GDP from 1.37 per cent. Public R&D funding remained stuck on 0.69 per cent.
