US leads ‘third countries’ in Horizon 2020

The United States is responsible for the largest share of external partnerships in the EU’s Horizon 2020 R&D programme, a European Commission report has found.

A total of 108 countries that are not in the EU and do not have an association agreement granting them full participation in Horizon 2020 had taken part in the programme by 1 January 2019, according to the report published this month.
