An alliance of 13 life science institutes from across Europe has criticised the EU R&D programme for funding too little collaborative basic research in biomedicine.
The EU Life alliance published its recommendations for the health thematic “cluster” of the EU’s 2021-27 R&D programme Horizon Europe on 25 June.
Criticising the current programme, Horizon 2020, it said that a “recurring theme” since the alliance was established in 2013 has been “the increasing lack of opportunities for collaborative research in biomedicine at a European level”.
