University group seeks broad synergies in EU programmes

EUA pushes for broad links, rather than interlocked grants

The European Commission should ensure the EU’s research, innovation and education funding programmes pull in the same general direction if it wants to raise their effectiveness, the European University Association has said.

Recurring programmes due to restart in 2021, such as the Horizon Europe R&D programme and the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme, should be accessible through a single template grant agreement, the EUA said in a position paper on 9 March.
