Council’s adoption of legislation for EU R&D programme means only Parliament’s approval now needed
The Council of the EU, which brings together member state governments, has formally agreed its position on the legislation for the EU’s 2021-27 R&D programme, Horizon Europe, meaning only approval by the European Parliament is now needed before the programme is fully signed off.
“Today’s adoption of the Council’s position brings us only one step away from the final adoption of the most ambitious EU research and innovation programme so far,” said Portugal’s science minister, Manuel Heitor, representing the January-June Portuguese presidency of the Council on 16 March.
