Demand for troubled EU equity fund ‘remains strong’

European Parliament due to vote on freezing EIC Accelerator budget this week

There is still “strong interest” in the EU’s trouble-hit equity-based innovation fund, according to the European Commission, despite dozens of planned beneficiaries waiting about a year to receive their money.

Seventy-five more companies have been selected to receive money from the European Innovation Council Accelerator fund, the Commission announced on 14 October. It said 88 per cent of these opted to receive both grants and equity-based investments.
