Announcement of external manager for European Innovation Council fund fails to reassure research committee members

Leading members of the European Parliament research committee are still concerned about the long-term future of an EU innovation fund, despite the European Commission taking what it sees as steps to improve the fund’s management.

Last month the Commission announced it had appointed an external manager to run the European Innovation Council equity fund on a provisional basis, following months of uncertainty and political recriminations, and that it now expected a backlog of delayed investments to be cleared in the coming months.
