Esof 2022: “twice as many grants” would reflect strength of research proposals
The president of the European Research Council, Maria Leptin, has indicated she will ask politicians for more money for the prestigious EU funder of basic research.
Speaking at the EuroScience Open Forum in Leiden, the Netherlands, on 14 July, Leptin (pictured second from left) said the ERC could “easily fund twice as many grants” as it does because there are so many “excellent” proposals that its panels evaluate.
