Applications for a major EU early career fellowship programme dropped to a record low this year, according to analysis by Research Europe.
The Marie-Skłodowska Curie Actions postdoctoral fellowship, formerly called the “individual fellowship”, was introduced in 2014 under the EU’s Horizon 2020 R&D programme, combining various previous schemes. It is intended to help researchers gain experience in a new country.
