Commission proposes slightly bigger Horizon budget for 2024

Boost of 3.7 per cent recommended, taking EU research and innovation programme to €12.8 billion

The 2024 budget of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme should be 3.7 per cent bigger than this year, the European Commission has said.

The Commission set out its proposal for the EU’s 2024 budget on 7 June, saying that Horizon Europe should commit to spending €12.812 billion in 2024, up from €12.353bn in 2023.
