Agreement paves way for collaboration on global challenges, despite parliamentary concerns

New Zealand has signed a deal providing it with associate membership of the EU’s €95.5 billion Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.

Signed on 9 July, the deal means researchers in the country are eligible to receive funding from the 2021-27 programme’s second pillar, which is focused on global challenges and industrial competitiveness.
