Earto raises concerns over EU’s handling of personnel costs

                        

Group of research and technology organisations says salaries are being devalued in EU-funded research projects

Processes for reimbursing research organisations for personnel costs on EU-funded projects are having “undesirable effects” and sending “the wrong message” about researchers’ salaries, a group representing research and technology organisations has warned.

The European Association of Research and Technology Organisations issued a statement on 8 January saying its members had received feedback from project evaluators who had questioned assigned personnel costs, resulting in budget reductions.
