Assessment finds EU research and innovation programme is not yet meeting its full potential
The EU’s previous research and innovation programme provided high value but could have achieved even more, an analysis has found.
Horizon 2020, which ran from 2014-20, had a budget of about €75.6 billion. The evaluation published by the European Commission on 29 January found that the R&I programme should provide about five times its budget in benefits to citizens by 2040, as previously announced by R&I commissioner Iliana Ivanova.
