South Korea agrees deal to join Horizon Europe

Negotiations have concluded on South Korea associating to EU’s €93.5 billion research and innovation programme

The EU and South Korea have reached a deal on the country joining the bloc’s €93.5 billion research and innovation programme, Horizon Europe, meaning the country is set to become the first in Asia to join.

EU R&I commissioner Iliana Ivanova and South Korea’s minister for science Lee Jong-Ho completed talks on association to the programme on 25 March, bringing an end to 10 months of negotiations.
