EU innovation agency initiative aims to close gender gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics

An initiative from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology has achieved its aim of providing training for 40,000 young women and girls to become future leaders in science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem).

The Girls Go Circular project was launched in 2020 as part of the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan for 2021-27. Working with educational organisations, teachers and children across Europe, the EIT said on 25 April that it had met the target for the initiative three years ahead of schedule.
