EUA conference: Europe “cannot afford” to lose research and innovation potential in Widening countries
The EU has been urged to “rework” the extra support it provides for member states with lagging participation in its research and innovation funding programmes.
This Widening scheme is intended to close the gap between member states that win large amounts of funding from EU R&I programmes and those that win less. At present, the latter group comprises the 13 most recently joined member states, plus Greece and Portugal.
