Applicants to EU R&I programmes need clarity sooner, says European university representative

The European Commission providing only a draft version of a guide on the EU’s research and innovation grant agreements for the first three years of the bloc’s current R&I programme “clearly wasn’t enough to ensure clarity” for participants, a representative of European universities has said.

At the beginning of this month, the Commission finally published a full guide, called the Annotated Grant Agreement, to advise researchers on the often-complex grant agreements for the EU’s 2021-27 R&I funding programme, Horizon Europe.
