Member states find ‘broad consensus’ on Horizon evaluation

Draft Council conclusions say EU’s R&D programme should have “adequate and stable budget”

EU member state governments have come to a “broad consensus” on their response to an evaluation of the EU’s previous research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020.

At the beginning of the year, the European Commission released a report on the bloc’s €75.6 billion 2014-20 programme, which is intended to inform the design of its successors. Since then, the Council of the EU member state governments has been drafting a response.
