Universities say EU must ‘respect’ R&I in next funding programme

Framework Programme 10 should “empower creativity”, including by avoiding prescriptive calls, Guild advises

The EU must “respect” research and innovation when it designs and sets a budget for its next R&I funding programme, a university group has said.

In a vision paper for Framework Programme 10, published on 15 May, the Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities called on the EU to recognise R&I as an “independent” policy area when planning the programme, which is due to start in 2028.
