Rector advocates for centralised EU innovation policy

Joint governing board should oversee synergies between EU innovation instruments, says Eindhoven leader

A university rector has argued that the EU needs a single centralised innovation policy system to increase synergies between its innovation instruments, facilitated by a joint governing board.

Silvia Lenaerts, rector of Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, said in an article published by the European University Association on 11 June that the EU needs a “one-stop shop” for innovation policy to make the most of its research and innovation funding programme.
