Dutch join data-sharing scheme

The Netherlands has become the 18th member state to join an EU initiative that links genomic health data across borders.

The scheme aims to provide access to one million sequenced genomes in the EU by 2022, boosting clinical research by sharing national and regional banks of genetic data and other health information.

On 15 October, the Netherlands became the latest signatory to the agreement, which began with 13 EU states in April.
