Views on EU infrastructure spending sought

The European Commission is evaluating EU investments in R&D infrastructure and farming, and wants input from the public and those involved.

More than €17 billion of EU funds were spent on supporting R&D infrastructures between 2007 and 2013, according to the Commission. On 8 November it opened a public consultation to evaluate that spending, aimed at people including national authorities and grant recipients.

The evaluation will examine the effectiveness, efficiency and impact of the investments, as well as their coherence with other EU policies, the Commission said. This will then inform future EU spending on R&D infrastructure.
