Coronavirus research findings to be shared ‘as quickly as possible’

Research organisations commit to data-sharing drive, as respiratory virus continues to spread

More than 50 research institutions, public bodies and commercial publishers have agreed to ensure that all research findings relevant to the ongoing spread of the novel respiratory virus 2019-nCoV are made freely accessible.

Under the terms of a joint statement published on 31 January, all peer-reviewed publications related to the coronavirus will be made open access at least for the duration of the outbreak. Journals will pass papers to the World Health Organization (WHO) as soon as they receive them from authors.
