Research powerhouse becomes 21st EU country to sign sequencing pledge

Germany has joined the 1+Million Genomes Initiative, a cooperative EU effort to sequence the complete DNA of at least one million people by 2022.

The initiative is intended to pool the genome sequencing data to improve disease prevention and treatment by increasing the scope and power of research efforts.
