Platform will offer open-access publishing to recipients of EU R&D funding from 2021
The EU’s forthcoming open-access publishing platform, Open Research Europe, will accept publication types including essays, methods papers and systematic reviews in addition to primary research papers, according to recently uploaded guidelines, reflecting the breadth of contributions to academic endeavour.
ORE, which is due to launch in 2021, is intended to give EU-funded researchers a venue to “share their results and insights rapidly and facilitate open, constructive research discussion”, according to the European Commission. It covers six subject areas: agricultural sciences; engineering and technology; humanities; medical and health sciences; natural sciences; and social sciences.
