Commission asked to help counter growing public distrust of high-bandwidth mobile internet
Fifteen EU member state governments have written to the European Commission to ask for help in combating disinformation about 5G mobile internet, which they said could slow the rollout of the technology.
The EU must take an “active, long-term and systemic approach” to allaying public health fears about 5G, the governments said in the 19 October letter, addressed to two Commission vice-presidents and the single market commissioner, Thierry Breton.
