Scholarly publishing association launching infrastructure initiative

Dutch data specialist Hylke Koers appointed to leadership role at STM Solutions

STM, the association of scientific, technical and medical publishers with over 120 members in countries around the world, is launching an infrastructure and services initiative and has appointed the Dutch data specialist Hylke Koers as chief information officer, amid a broader push by publishers to support data sharing.

“STM Solutions has been established to develop and manage forward-thinking shared infrastructures and collaborative services to support the scholarly communications community,” the association said in its announcement on 16 February. It said the initiative will launch in April, when Koers will start his role.
