EU urged to scope environmental impact of research infrastructures

   

Member states could be asked to develop methods for measuring impact to facilitate mitigation

The EU should focus more on the environmental impact of its research infrastructures and find ways to measure these impacts so that they can be reduced, according to the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU.

In its six-month role chairing the EU-related work of the bloc’s member state governments, the presidency has produced a draft text on research infrastructures for the Council to consider.
