Publishing in Open Research Europe does not give career pay-offs, says scientific advisory board member
Reform of research assessment is needed for the EU’s academic publishing platform, Open Research Europe, to become a go-to option for authors, according to one of its scientific advisory board members.
Toma Susi admitted that even he would not publish his best work via ORE, saying it would not give him a career pay-off in the same way as a paper published in prestigious journals, and that authors who currently support the platform do so for mainly idealistic reasons.
